Dark Drifting

A cold dreamy winter's day
Gazing out of the window
Trees are covered in white
Heavy branches sway in the breeze

A sigh for the dark season
And for times long ago
When the world was young
And filled with magic

Dark drifting…
Shape shifting
In the snow
Light fading into shadow
A dream that has gone

A distant memory of light
And laughter as a child
A life that has passed slow as the winter
Longing for summer and warmth

A sigh for lost love
And for times long ago
When the world was young
And filled with magic

Dark drifting…
Shape shifting
In the snow
Light fading into shadow
A dream that lives on

  1. what beautiful words from the depths of your soul. i can almost feel the silence you sat in and cry for love that is gone. the world changes, but never grows old as we are children, may that never change. and add one more grain to the sands of time, as the sound of a snow flake melts in my mind. so so much to be taken in, and hide for no one to ever see, as the wind rocks the limb and i turn away, and the moon faids to the bright of day. moved by your words.
